As part of National Apprenticeship Week 2022, we are excited to be working alongside local schools and colleges to deliver our first open events.
Students from Southpark Enterprise College, John Leggott College and Engineering UTC will be visiting our Scunthorpe based facility to learn more about the processes, products and engineering apprenticeships we provide.
During our open events, students will watch a range of videos, learning about how Youth Engineering produces components, meeting the different members of the team and finding out more about the apprenticeship scheme.
The event will also include a tour of the facility from the factory gantry, providing a view of the whole of the 120,000 square foot building.
Finally, students will be given hands on engineering skills activities, providing them with a snapshot of the type of work involved as an engineering operative apprentice.
May Foxton, Business Graduate for Bradbury Group and event organiser commented “it is exciting to be able to welcome students from the region to our facility. Youth Engineering provides an alternative career provision for young people and these events will give those interested a real flavour for the type of progression we can provide.”
The Level 2 apprenticeship scheme will be provided by Springfield Training, an accredited education provider. During the week, Springfield Training will also visit the facility, to meet some of the future students and explain a little more about what the programme has to offer.
“We are excited to be working with Springfield Training” says Zane Dextor, HR Director for Bradbury Group. “Their unique approach to apprenticeships ensure students get the most of out of their placements and encourages long term career opportunities, benefiting future employers in the area”.
Youth Engineering provides unique employment opportunities for individuals in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. The scheme provides personalised training and bespoke manufacturing services, making components for a range of applications, from doors and cars to model railways.
